Educational Programs

Welcome to the Educational Programs section of our website. This page contains information on a variety of educational opportunities from various organizations. Officials should consider all information presented, selecting opportunities best fulfilling your individual officiating education goals.

USA Hockey Officiating Zoomcasts

Through the end of season two, USA Hockey has published 56 Zoomcasts, each approximately one hour in length. These highly informative programs cover a variety of topics from beginning to advanced. You can review the Zoomcasts at any time by accessing the USA Hockey Zoomcast webpage. Please take some time to review one or more of these highly informative programs!
​Central District Officiating Experience
 
With the goal of offering development, education and growth opportunities for ice hockey officials from the states of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin, the Central District Officiating Experience provides officials the chance to experience a USA Hockey camp-like atmosphere. The event takes place in Ames, Iowa in mid June.  There is an application process. For an overview of the 2023 event, click: Learn more. 

WHOA Development Camps

WHOA offers various officiating development camps in conjunction with WAHA player development camps. Offerings vary from year to year. Typically, an email is sent to targeted groups of officials describing camp opportunities. Specific opportunities are also posted on this webpage. WHOA is currently accepting applications for our Female Officials Development Camp to be held July29-31, 2022 in Eau Claire. Full details can be found at wihoa.org. You can apply to the camp here​.

USA Hockey Development Camps

The entry point for the USA Hockey Development Camp is the Futures Camp. Each summer, Futures Camp is offered for male, female, and sled officiating participants. Futures Camp is for officials 18-28 years of age who wish to review and enhance their officiating skills. Additional information can be found by clicking here.

Advanced Officiating Symposium

​The Advanced Officiating Symposium leads to tenured status for Level 3 and Level 4 officials. This highly engaging seminar bring together officials from a wide variety of backgrounds providing outstanding conversation and content. It is a great way to meet officials from other parts of the country sharing your interest and dedication to officiating. The 2023 AOS will be held from July 28-30 in Columbus, OH. District Officiating Seminar

This unique opportunity is designed for officials of all ages. Typically offered in the late summer or early fall, the DOS utilizes much of the same curriculum as Futures Camp but does not provide game experience. More information on the DOS can be found on the USA Hockey DOS webpage. Attending a DOS fulfills your yearly seminar requirement.

Other Officiating Camps

A variety of officiating camps are offered by individuals nationwide. Officials should vet camps, ensuring camps meet officiating goals and educational needs.
