Camps

WHOA Camp

This camp is designed for officials with all ranges of experience in the one referee/two linesman system who desire to become more exposed to the three-official system. The camp is an intensive weekend experience consisting of classroom, power skating and game experience. All game experience is evaluated and participants receive immediate feedback after their game experience. Officials wishing to attend this camp should aspire to officiate higher level games. Please note that participation in this camp is limited. Participants are expected to make their own arrangements for lodging and meals. Male and Female Officials are encouraged to apply.

Central District Officiating Camp

The Central District hosts an officiating development every Summer typically on the campus of Iowa State in Ames, IA. This camp is by inviation only and features many of the same opportunities that WHOA Camp offers.

USA Hockey Futures Camp

This camp, highly educational in nature, provides a thorough review of the fundamentals of amateur ice hockey officiating. Campers will be 18-28 years of age with a minimum of two to three years experience some of which should be at the 14U level or higher. Participant should exhibit a strong desire to share learning with their local officiating community after attending camp.

If selected participants must pay a $90 registration fee plus their own travel expenses to camp. All other costs (housing, meals, ice time, instructor) are provided by USA Hockey.

Applications for Futures Camp are due to the Central District Referee-in-Chief no later than March 15.

USA Hockey High Performance Camp

This camp provides advanced educational instruction for individuals mastering fundamentals presented at the USA Hockey Futures Camp. Participant will focus on refining lessons learned while applying techniques necessary to officiating at the highest levels of hockey. The role of fundamentals supporting advanced techniques will be reviewed as well. New concepts including advanced power skating, nutrition, physical conditioning and mental preparedness will be incorporated as well. Participants will be 20-30 years of age with experience at the Tier III junior level, ACHA college level, or national tournament participation.

If selected participants must pay a $90 registration fee plus their own travel expenses to camp. All other costs (housing, meals, ice time, instructor) are provided by USA Hockey.

USA Hockey Sled Hockey Futures Camp

This camp, highly educational in nature, provides a thorough review of the nuances of officiating sled hockey which participants will utilized for self improvement and take back to their local association. Participants will ideally be 18-36 years of age with experience officiating both sled and able-bodies hockey.

If selected participants must pay a $90 registration fee plus their own travel expenses to camp. All other costs (housing, meals, ice time, instructor) are provided by USA Hockey.

Applications for Futures Camp are due to the Central District Referee-in-Chief no later than March 15.
